X, Taylor

Taylor Watts is the face behind taylor michele creative co. She started this journey in October 2019, after spending time in the medical field.  Her high school and college years were spent pursuing a career in the medical field, then post-graduation she spent about 4 years in pharmaceutical research and healthcare administration until she realized that was not her path.

After feeling directionless for some time, Taylor realized that she could take control of her career by becoming a freelancer.  Interior Design is a field that allows so much expression and collaboration and Taylor has always enjoyed the freedom of creativity, so this was the perfect match.  Freelancing also allows for so many other opportunities, and not feeling boxed in is extremely important.

"There are so many aspects that I enjoy about the design field. Bringing life and perspective to each unique space, experimenting with new styles and products, and meeting new people are some of my favorite. I love using Interior Design accounts on Instagram for inspiration and am having a lot of fun learning as I go.  As far as my aesthetic goes - I value many different styles.  As a general theme in my repertoire, though: if it's unexpected, I tend to gravitate towards it."

Another lifelong love of hers is writing.  Taylor is a Virtual Assistant for Food Blogs through 40A., completed Hannah Brencher's Writing Intensive course during fall 2019, & is a copyeditor for Tirzah Magazine.

"I have enjoyed writing ever since I joined TAG in third grade.  Does anyone remember the TAG program?!  It sticks out for me because that's when I first received an essay assignment about "Enigmas in the Ancient World" and I fell in love with the entire process: research, writing, editing, re-writing, more research, repeat.  The same year I was introduced to Harry Potter and believe me when I say, that series changed my life.  J.K. Rowling created an entire world with the most wonderfully intertwined plot from start to finish.  Not only has it brought me a lot of joy, but it continues to inspire me to this day.

Writing is a passion of mine that I've turned into an opportunity to help support businesses that I believe in by Copywriting and Content Writing."

Taylor is a seeker, creative, and passionate about her work.  She appreciates seeing the world from different perspectives and finds that that practice helps with her work.  She is a member of Designers Society of America (DSA) after graduating from The New York Institute of Art & Design's Interior Design course.  She is currently studying to take the Designer Society of America's Residential Interior Design Qualification Certification (RIDQC).  Taylor has also completed training in Adobe Photoshop, Mix & Match Design E-Design Education Course, and Kelly Wearstler's Masterclass on Interior Design.
